Unfortunately there's no course description up because it's listed as an "Independent topic" class; I'll try to get some details from the prof and get back to you.

Oh I will!

I'm going to be asking her (the prof also teaches upper-level syntax classes) about some of the work I've been doing with my conlang, to see how realistic it is, and references I should look into to make it work better.

small update: The textbook will be the Language Construction Kit by Rosenfelder Smile

Unfortunately I checked his site and it lists a new ('advanced') book coming out, but next summer, so we won't be able to use that one...

Also we'll be reading from the Klingon Dictionary (which I happen to own already).

Update:

The class is better than I expected Smile

The "short research report" is a report on any conlang (I'm thinking about Ithkuil, but I'm open to suggestions!)

And the "Mini-grammar" is one that we make ourselves, which will include sections on each topic we discuss in class (as per the syllabus, previously posted here). So of course I'm going to be working on my Oligosynthetic-type lang, and with a deadline, it should get done!

I'm also taking a class on lexical semantics, from which I've already gotten a book from the prof to read, "The Generative Lexicon" which should be rather useful for the concept-based word formation structure I'm working on Smile

And a phonology class to tidy up the phonology and phonotactics side of things, along with a suggestion to talk to an expert in Salish phonology if I'm interested.

If all goes well, I'll publish the extended grammar based on the grammar from the class sometime in December or January.

For our first major assignment, we did a research report on a constructed language, and I did end up doing it on Ithkuil to get a better sense of how it was put together.

The reason for its shortness was a word-count restriction (obviously could have gone into excessive detail, so I'm kind of glad for the limit).

Should be getting the marks back pretty soon, it's a small class.
