I just got logged out for the fourth time.
It can happen in the middle of a reply.
What gives?
Why can't you fix it? _________________ "We're the healthiest horse in the glue factory" - Erskine Bowles, Co-Chairman of the deficit reduction commission

Gah, I'm really sorry about that.
Anyone else got the same problem?
What browser are you using? |

Um, I'm using IE 7.
But, I believe that you usually use a public computer?
Do they have any other browsers that you can use?
Are you able to install new browsers or update the current browser? |

Possibly this is a problem Bizhat knows about. If not, possibly it's one they should know about. Possibly they're the ones who need to fix it.
Or, maybe you can fix it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you go to the Administration panel and look around at some of it's stuff, perhaps including some second-level panels it will let you in, you'll see some settings it lets you set.
(The "go to administration panel" link should be at the bottom of your page if you're an administrator.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If, under the "Administration" group on the left, you click the "Admin Index" link, you should get, on the right, a "Version Information" as the third-or-thereabouts major heading. Find out if your version of phpBB needs to be updated.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look at the left-hand side of the Administration page and find the group headed "General Admin" (it should be about the third group).
Then look under that for "Configuration" (it should be about the second line in that group).
Now, on the right-hand side, look under "General Board Settings" at such options as "Automatic Login Expiry", "Flood Interval", "Search Flood Interval", "Login Lock Time", etc.
Under "Cookie Settings" look at "Session Length" etc.
Under "User and Forum Basic Settings" look at "Max number of poll options" etc.
Is it possible that one of these settings could be changed to fix this problem?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I can't think of anything else you could do. If none of the above help, try asking Bizhat customer support for help or information.
-----
Thanks,

I have to say, though, it sounds like you're the only one experiencing this problem, Eldin. I use this forum from several different computers (primarily Mac and Linux, but one Windows machine as well) and several different browsers (Safari, Firefox, IE7) and am not having the issue.
The issue you're seeing usually happens when the session cookie is expiring early.
Just for the fun of it, check the date and time on the computer you're using. I've seen it cause some very odd behaviour when that's off by quite a bit. And if, say, the year is off, that's not something you notice unless you're looking for it. _________________ Dwirze ghárìlen ershónyá áqálán.

Okay, I have attempted to change the Cookie Settins, session length to 3600.
Please tell me if that made any changes. |

@Halyihev,
@StrangeMagic:
Thanks.
I will do as you said.
In the mean time, assume "no news" is good news.

I have noticed that I get logged out a fair bit too... but that is usually when I have gone away for a while and come back and want to post again.
I use firefox, by the way. It is a lot better than IE7. _________________ Tôśt drônén kókślán! Vón kríngénã Tôśt! Gâgén šníkél dér îwâ! |
