|
|
As a simple start point, I am going to point out some easy things to remember (if you have learnt dutch). Words that have an 'ij' in Dutch or an 'ei' in German, Illikian Dutch has an 'ie', etc.
Some examples:
vrij - frie
spijt - spiete
hij - hie
mijn - mien
ijs - iez
zijn - zien or just z'n
Dutch 'oe' is simply just an 'o' in Illikian Dutch:
goed - got
boek - boc
hoe - ho
Dutch 'ui' becomes 'ü':
huis - hüz
duif - düf
zuid - züt
Duits - Dütz
Dutch 'eu' becomes 'oi'
keuze - koiz
neus - noiz
sleutel - sloitil
leuk - loik
'eeuw' becomes 'oie'
sneeuw - snoie
eeuw - oie
leeuw - loie
geeuw-- goie
meeuw - moie
Word order occurs the same as English (hadn't really come across other word orders when making this) SVO. Example sentences:
Steven drinks coffee - Steven 's drenke kofei.
I drink coffee - Ik 'n drenk kofei.
She/He drinks coffee - Zie/Hie 's drenke kofei.
You drink coffee - Je 's drenke kofei.
We drink coffie - Wie z'n drenken kofei.
They drink coffee - Zie z'n drenken kofei.
Steven loves food - Steven 's lebe fod.
I love food - Ik 'n leb fod.
She/He loves food - Zie/Hie 's lebe fod.
You love food - Je 's lebe fod.
We love food - Wie z'n leben fod.
They love food - Zie z'n leben fod.
GREETINGS - GROTES
Hello - Hallo/Deg/Hü
Good Day - Goddeg
Good Morning - Gode mürog
Good Evening - God afen
Good Night - Gode nakt
How are you? (infrm) - Ho is et? Or just Hoset?
How are you? (frm) - Ho 's je gaæ?
I'm fine, thanks - Ik 'n fien/god, tank
I'm bad - Ik 'n slekt
Goodbye - Tezent je
Bye! - Deg!
