Exactly. That's what ALL people on forums should do but sadly that doesn't always happen.

Just my thoughts, I like it here because of the absence of flames. There is occasional conflict, but generally gets solved unlike big forums which just blow out of proportion. _________________ kasabot ka ani? aw di tingali ka bisaya mao na

Yeh, on the ZBB especially, small confilcts turn into major episodes on several occasions. |

That's why I never even really considered joining the ZBB. |

apparently sarcasm isn't easily recognized here even though i used " " you all seemed to not realize that you are indeed being disparaging 5 posts i counted that had something negative to say about some one that doesn't even post here its almost as if you think this is a nicer forum when in actuality you just sit around moaning about how bad other places or people are |

Hmm, yeh, we're just peculiar like that. But I guess it's just one of those little rants that we have. |

Personally I like the ZBB but I just wish people treat each other with respect whether they like the person or not. That's the only thing I have against it. Other then that it's a wonderful place for learning all sorts of things.

No that's not why it was made. It was made because both me and StrangeMagic thought that having a forum where people who loved conlanging could come and share their ideas with each other in a friendly anti flame war place.
Some place that we can avoid those unpleasant things and just have fun and joke around. That's the purpose of this place. And I don't want you to go nor does any one else on here.

Have you looked around in the Conlangs and Conworlds section?

Perhaps they do, but at least we do have a nicely knitted community here. I think that in every forum, there will be some rant that people will continue to bring up but what we can do is to stop it before it turns into a flame war.
We also do quite a lot of discussion, especially on the ideas of concultures and such, we sometimes do deviate from the main points, such as dreams, but we all get along which is perfectly fine, in my opinion. |

o believe me that there are some disagreements, just look at some of the convos that me and eldin raigmore have been through, especially the ones on religion. but after those convos, we became friends again, because we knew that it would be dumb to have religion as a rift between our community. _________________ Join us at: The Renewed Spirits Forum!

We do criticise each other's work, we also give suggestions to each other. We also learn a lot, especially from Eldin's posts, nearly always full of very valuable information and extremely informative for the ones who are lesser acknowledged in linguistics and the like. |

Fortunately that has never been all there is to see. You need also to look at other threads here on this board.
Djelukh wrote: | so its a hug circle? | Definitely not.
Some boards do not want anyone to post any reaction that is all-positive, and counts such things as "spam".
We do not.
Nor yet do we require every reaction to show detailed thought on the part of the "reactor".
If you only looked at the all-general all-positive responses, you might think this was a "hug-fest", but it isn't; some of the responses are quite detailed and involve analysis and cross-reference to scholarly works (books and/or articles) and/or to other people's conscripts (or conlangs or concultures or conworlds), both Vreleksá members and others elsewhere in the community.
Also some of the responses include "criticisms" along the line of "this would be hard to read", "this would be hard to write", "these two characters don't look like part of the same script", "this character is ugly", "the whole thing looks too much like Tengwar (or whatever)", "I don't see how this could have evolved naturally", etc.
Djelukh wrote: | how do you ever get anything done without critisism? | Well, two things wrong with that:
(1) We are definitely getting plenty done
(2) We definitely have plenty criticism. |

Okeeeey,
Getting back on topic, I suggest (response thread, yes?) that our mods could, if technically possible, add confirmation emails as part of the registration process, the kind which gives you a confirmation code or better yet those picture things where one has to manually type the character s/he sees. I've written about this in another thread. This would really lessen the amount of bots getting through the process. It is more complex for the mods but easier on those who register.

I could do confirmation e-mails, but I would say that the 'human' could just send me a post telling me what their username and password would be would be confirmation enough. |
