As my name implies, I am a fan of all things Tolkien, so I have decided to try this:
An extension of Tolkien's beyond-unfinished Valarin!
My source
Considering the fact that there is so little, most of it will be like 'oh, I feel like doing this', not for any real reason.
Most of the following is extant or inferred, I haven't put too much thought into it yet.
Phonology
I am using a slightly different orthography than Ardalambion uses, simply because I feel like I can do a better job.
Consonants:
/p/
/b/
/m/
/w/
/t/
/d/
/n/
/T/ <þ>
/D/ <ð>
/s/
/S/ <š>
/l/
/r/ [4]
/j/ <y>
/k/
/g/
/x/ <x>
/G/ <287> - g with an inverted circumflex, don't know why it's not there.
/h/
/p_h/ <ph>
/b_h/ <bh>
/t_h/ <th>
Vowels
/a/
/{/ <æ>
/e/
/i/
/o/
/O/ <417>
/u/
Syllable structure is (C)V(C), with allowed medial consonant clusters being br, lg, ll, gw, šk, and st.
Long vowels are accepted, indicated by an acute accent. (á) An apostrophe (') on affixes indicates the previous vowel's lengthening.
Geminate consonants are accepted, indicated by a doubled letter. (tt)
For stress I'm going with the Japanese-esque lack of it, for reasons that I can't seem to explain properly.
Grammar
The only grammar obvious is that most names of Valar end in -'z, and there is an plural infix -um- before the last syllable (máxanáz [authority] > máxanumáz). That makes it more than likely to be agglutinative.
-'z may be an affix indicating nominative case or something similar, since the stem ayanu- [Ainu] is given one place, but listed as ayanúz elsewhere.
The only actual verb is akašán, meaning 'he says'. There are two past participles given, dušamanúðán [marred] and amanaišal [unmarred]. These probably come from different stems, since they are gramatically identical and their only similarity is -aman- (which I am assuming is the past participial infix).
All the syntax that exists is that adjectives follow their nouns.
Comments on my inferences would be nice, and I'll try to come up with some stuff of my own to show soon. |

Very nice so far.
Are there any other allophones besides /r/ and [4]?
How can a language have only one verb? _________________ Join us at: The Renewed Spirits Forum!

I haven't done an allophony yet.
And when I said 'one verb', I meant one preexisting verb. |

I love this! Did you know about the script? *Drools at the thought of it* Do you plan to reconstruct that too?

I don't think Tolkien ever gave any thought to a script. It probably would just be written with tengwar, since that was the first writing system. |

There's a script because I have a font for it. Google it and the site that I got it from should be in the results.

I'm trying to find the site I got it from. It's on Omniglot some where. I'll keep looking for you. I'm using alot of the characters ( it has a lot ) for a conscript.
Get back to you as soon as I find it.
