|
|
Well, today in Costa Rica there was a tremor that really shocked people in the major cities and communities of the country.
Magnitude: 6.2 degrees in Richter scale (is it scale or something else?)
Epicenter: 5 to 6 km from Poás Volcano, near San Pedro de Poás
It damaged several houses, buildings, at least 5 bridges (actually they collapsed), a hydroelectric dam, several streets, you could find several broken windows everywhere, some houses were flooded or lacked of the basic services like water, electric supply or telecommunications. In San Pedro de Poás the "plaza" wasn't completely safe, it was broken into several pieces...
The capital city is safe, nothing serious happened there fortunately, but in Alajuela and Heredia the traffic officers (not part of the police forces) told the people to close the stores, banks and anything else. Some people even stopped / parked their cars because they couldn't drive normally anymore.
The tremor or earthquakes had about 200 replicas during the next 3 hours.
The (not so) good thing is that there was 2 casualties only... well, 2 little girls ages 12 and 13 died today... 20 people were injured, 2 experts were trapped in the Poás Volcano... People are hysteric...
Man, it's horrible to experience this but it's entertaining somehow... at least for us Costaricans. It provided us a good excuse for spending more free time than usual. I even thought I was living at the seashore or something like that for a few seconds, it was like surfing on the waves... _________________ Seos nivo adgene Kizne tikelke

I heard something about that on the news. It's good that you can keep a positive attitude at times like this. I hope you weren't affected by the earthquake.
Anyway, hang ten, dude! _________________ Speak: English, Spanish

Sometimes something tragic can also give us a break from normal life. Hope things are going alright. |

Mmm, what can I say? 10 to 15 people are dead, 3 canadians are missing because the river took them away... 16 km of roads are blocked, damaged or disappeared...
Yeah, I think we're fine... It could be even worse. Let's hope there'll be no tremor tomorrow... but it's still possible after I learned about the replicas, there were about 2000 registered by the machines already...
The good thing is that they're able to evacuate survivors, turists, etc. _________________ Seos nivo adgene Kizne tikelke

Something really weird happened yesterday, there was a explosion of a warehouse that contained wares like food, 2 motorcycles, foam, mattresses and so on for the survivors.
Some smart guy thought it was a good idea to weld / solder some metal column or perling or whatever it was in order to expand the warehouse the same day they were gathering resources there... and if you now that the motorcycles need gas to run... and there are flammable wares that can start a fire... well, you shouldn't get any closer but they didn't take that into consideration back then.
Thousands of things were lost that day, maybe half of what they collected from people and what the State had bought in case of emergencies like this one. _________________ Seos nivo adgene Kizne tikelke

And of course American news agencies haven't covered this. Figures. _________________ Join us at: The Renewed Spirits Forum!

Well, the guy that likes to pretend to be our president (I hate to just call him our president since he's just a scammer) asked for international help twice already... _________________ Seos nivo adgene Kizne tikelke

Do you know what's really sad, despicable? Today I learned that there is a 7-year-old kid who was raped at a shelter for the earthquake victims... You know, there are people who died, even honest men and women or adolescents, even kids, that might have live their whole lives peacefully, but they just can't do so anymore. Even so there's some survivor that dares to rape a kid in such a place, it's inhumane, it's against nature itself, well, not his evil nature as you may notice, that's still lurking there, alive and commits a crime (that's how you'd say this?)... Man, this is a moment when I wished this kind of guys should be the first to die during or just after such a natural disaster. It's unbelievable, this kid has to face reality as is not just because of their family losing their home but now due to that terrible, horrible, traumatic experience, too. I guess this is one of the main reasons some people support the death sentence anywhere around the world... _________________ Seos nivo adgene Kizne tikelke

Oh my, that is just so wrong. >_< I cannot comprehend what goes through their minds in that sort of a situation. It's terrible and sickening. |

Wow, what that kid must be going through now, that's horrid. I hope they found whoever did that and removed him/her so that the rest of the survivors can be safe. |

Well, the suspect escaped from the shelter so it'd take a while before they catch him. According to the police they have helpful clues that may lead to this guy's whereabouts... _________________ Seos nivo adgene Kizne tikelke
