I utterly despise her. I used to trust her back in the days of the second EDSA revolution. She was just as idealistic and had as much hopes for my country as the people who protested. I really trusted her, my family (parents and grandparent) supported her. I don't know what happened, what with the succession of scandals that followed her and her husband. It started when she said "i won't be running for next year's presidential elections". It was a lie : she ran (we voted for an opposition candidate). And then there was her husband's alleged Swiss bank accounts. And then there were the wiretapped tapes which caught her talking to an election official. And then we always see her husband sleeping in 5 star hotels during Manny Pacquiao's fights allegedly spending people's money. And then there was the ZTE-NBN deal, the worst of them all (though she wasn't the worst hit). One member of the cabinet supposedly called her 'evil'. You can just sense how bad she was.

It is not her who is only corrupt, many officials are as well. When we go out of town, we always have to bear the unpaved dirt roads for two to three hours. We have to bear the multiple holes we encounter when there is a paved road. The bridge connecting the Población to the downtown, which began construction five or six years ago has not even reached its halfway point. For every allotment to a project, approximately 40% go to kickbacks for government officials. They projects have to go through the National, provincial (governor and congressman), city, local (barangay). Each get their own share of the loot and only so few is left for the actual projects.
