I just saw an interesting bit of signage in a picture of the most recent gathering in Tehrir Square. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tahrir_Square_during_8_February_2011.jpg
The large banner in the bottom right of the center circle has been colored in under the Arabic, in a way that reminds me of mountains on a horizon. (Actually it reminds of the planets Space Man Spiff used to explore!) I don't remember seeing anyone here come up with anything like this. Has anyone invented any similarly "unorthodox" script? And by unorthodox, I mean one not based off strokes of a pen or brush. Bubble letters don't count, even though this is probably Arabic's equivalent/

I haven't personally, but have you seen Zompist's Elkarîl? It's made of faces.

Very cool. It could be quite disconcerting if found in a Temple of Doom! A whole wall of angry faces telling you to be gone or be forever cursed!

So if one is to write this language efficiently, must they have an assistant a vast array of hats, wigs, fake beards, and other props :p?

I don't have any nonstandard scripts as you imply, but I have considered three dimensional scripts before. You might have inspired me too develop one.

Ha yes! I imagine they have quite a tradition of miming, as well!
