Hey there, everyone. I guess this is the right place to put a question about this.
Do your conworlds have some ways, by witch the supposed characteristics of an indvidual are determined? Wheter it is simply by hair/eye colour, skin type or name, or maybe you have some kind of an equivalent to horoscopes or something?
Do your conpeople take into account, under what star or star system a new baby is born? In which time of the year? What time of day? During what weather? Other sircumstances? |

Basically, 'is there stereotyping in your conworld, and how?'?
In Emitaru things like that are avoided as much as possible (at least so far in its development ^_^) |

They still do. Back in the day these data actually meant something, but not since the reforms of Tuohokko Herrianast Sulizdar Hokukai (not in any way related to Hokusai) eliminated such beliefs in the Spillam areas in favour of pure Lofitul belief. Other areas had their reformers, surely, but I've only detailed the Spillam area (modern-day Merista) significantly. _________________ Iwocwá ĵọṭãsák.

So, what kind of circumstances DID they take into account and what they meant? |

Stereotyping in Adpihi tends to be occupational; that is, knowing someone's occupation, people make assumptions about his/her personality.
Certain physical characteristics do influence occupation-choice. Also, having been raised in certain localities can influence occupation-choice. So there's some of that.
Mostly it's not pejorative; in fact at the moment I can't think of any of it that is. That doesn't mean it doesn't occasionally cause irritation or inconvenience, though; it almost never does, but "almost never" isn't "never". _________________ "We're the healthiest horse in the glue factory" - Erskine Bowles, Co-Chairman of the deficit reduction commission |
