Has anyone here created a history for their conworld, like the one in Lord of the Rings? What about the royal lines/important people? If there are different factions/countries/etc, conflicts, influences on each other, etc?
(I'm trying to get this sorted out for a history I'm thinking of doing for my world, I don't really know what to do with it yet though...) |

Well, sorta... I started with the history of a small feud-like land called Navrim (Navrise in Kexyana, but commonly referred as Nayvlone (granary) ). The main characters were a child (later a resentful "black knight" cursed by a fire mage at a young age), a pseudo knight that lead a movement to free the land from the despot that ruled them with a burning iron fist just to try to negotiate with the Wall Empire or Kuzelganze Gaurdyen the future Anexion of Navrim. For the meanwhile, his assistant, King Bloodwyn I or Zelge Myesrines I was crown by the pseudo knight Lioth and forged an alliance with some elves that lived in the forest where centuries later Lioth's descendant, Omikron, would marry an wonderful elfwoman with some weird viewpoints about teaching some natural principles of wisdom and restoration. _________________ Seos nivo adgene Kizne tikelke |

Yes! I love delving into a world's history! Gaeden, where Tadvaradcel and ra cel are spoken (in some places) has an extensive history going back for thousands of years, and covering three distinct eras. Sträva as well, the home of the Hemnälg-speaking kyllahän, has a written history of about ten thousand years. I'm trying to clear up some things and find missing pieces, but when I'm done I really want to share! _________________ ssvòä bïe es lýra, weave for me a dream. |

The reason that I've done so little work on my conworld is because I'm starting it at ~4000BC tech level and going from there, documenting everything.
Problem is, to get names for nations, I have to have all the langs done, and they're emphatically not. _________________ 'We are the knights who say, "に!"'

A couple of my languages have developed from names I've randomly given things... Well, actually, Hellcat is a pretty good example of that, haha. I often just leave blanks when I need a name for something and nothing comes to mind until later - do you ever do that? _________________ ssvòä bïe es lýra, weave for me a dream. |

It might not be 'great', but it's good. ^_^
That's almost exactly the format my conworld will take in finality (along with maps and languages). _________________ 'We are the knights who say, "に!"'

I like that way of doing it. I tend to do a big generalized history and then work down into the little bits until I get stuck. Also, question: is it actually copyrighted? _________________ ssvòä bïe es lýra, weave for me a dream. |

Haha, thank you, I think that with school and everything, we really haven't been giving much of our attention to the story or the conworld recently.
And achemel, I think it should be copyrighted, because in the UK, whatever you write down is copyrighted to you. I believe. Yes, I found it here - http://www.copyrightservice.co.uk/copyright/p01_uk_copyright_law
Which says:
| Quote: | | Copyright is an automatic right and arises whenever an individual or company creates a work. To qualify, a work should be regarded as original, and exhibits a degree of labour, skill or judgement. |

Ahhh. I was just wondering because you had the whole little copyright thingy at the bottom of the page and I didn't know if that was officially given to you somehow or if you put it there yourself. I wonder if it's the same in the USA, haha. _________________ ssvòä bïe es lýra, weave for me a dream. |

Ah, yes, I typed the code onto there by myself. I think it should be okay? Haha, not entirely sure.
But hmm, I'm not sure, I'm sure you'll find something on the internet. =D |

I have finished only two genealogies, and I have finished the elvish timeline, from the time they left the Timeless Lands, also known as Afrika (the Lands of Harmony), and established themselves in the Ring of Blessing, also called the Greater Mountain Ring (see my map, Éstéa, in the Conworld Section). The time periods are elvish, because they were the first ones, in the Visible World, to have had a definite language and politics and similar systems, although the Humans were the first to come out of the Timeless Lands.
There are, from the first Elves out, two Year 0s: one from when they left Afrika, and the other after the Great War. In other words, they had changed their calenders twice. But, counting elvishly, there is a time period of about 20,000 to 21,000 years, of which about 13,000 years are before the Great War, and the rest after (roughly 8,000 years).
To return to my main topic, the genealogy I finished are those of only three characters, out of about twenty; and, if I were to show the graphical lineage, one would see that many of my main characters (all in different stories) are, at some point in their genealogy, interrelated. For instance, my main (of all main) character is related to a long-distant cousin of another story. I decided it like this because, with that, I can related all the details of my stories together to make them more complete.
I hope it all makes sense. XD _________________ Languages spoken:

I have, with eldin's help, been detailing the history of Selvania. A history of the Šelavil city-region is also underway. _________________ Tiedämme missä asut.

How do you want us to post family trees, I wonder? Do you want an image or something else? _________________ Languages spoken:

Yes, there are factions, countries, conflicts, and influences. I haven't done anything about important people or important families, but that's a good idea. I hadn't even considered "royals". _________________ Therefore love the child who holds your hand; and let your wife delight in your embrace; for this is the lot of mankind to enjoy:
