If I told you where my name came from...I might have to live up to it! Mwa ha ha!

Just kidding. Actually it's just what I always use. I don't really know why. My name is Kenneth, obviously.

I remember Æetlr Creejl was one of the pen names used by writings of the Æejlet revolutionaries, who ousted the former fascist government and started democracy as we know it in Æejl. Æetlr Creejl just happened to be their most famous pen name, and the one most people recognise as being the revolutionaries'.

What? Are you saying one of those is a real place? I searched for it and couldn't find much that was definitive. There's an argument on the Wikipedia about the Sri Lankan conflict; something about "Narendra Singh Negi - Versatile garhwali singer of Uttaranchal"; stuff about Turks and Oghuz; and not much in clear English, nor any other language using the Latin alphabet, that makes it clear it's not just a game or a fairy-tale.
Where the heck's Æejl?

Interesting. How do you pronounce Æetlr Creejl?

The way you say "I remember..." makes it seem like you were there fighting to oust the Fascist pigs. Laughing

Are those trilled [r]s or [r] because it's easier to type in? I tried saying it as a trill and a flap, and using the trill /creejl/ was really hard! (^_^) It could be I just have trouble speaking, haha.

How do you know I wasn't there? My dreams are always vivid, and several times I have dreamed myself to be in Æejl fighting. Why just last night I was in Æejl, after the fighting, inspecting Šelavil metro line 37.

Most of the time an epenthetic vowel /@/ is inserted, but they are /r/s.

Are they lucid dreams? That would be a great way to really flesh out a conworld. Unfortunately, I rarely remember my dreams, and every time I become lucid, I wake up.

The are indeed lucid dreams, and therefore I know oodles about my conworld without having any of it on paper. I really do love it. There are several method to lucid dreaming, and you can try them yourself to induce it.

How cool! (^_^) I've never had a lucid dream. My real dreams are funky enough to make up for it, I guess.

I almost never experience lucid dreams. But "my character" in ordinary dreams gets more and more knowledgeable about it being a dream. Once I was searching for a girl, I saw her and then lost her. So I raised my head and asked the "operating system", the part of my mind that generates the surrounding, "Where is she?" and then there was a flashing red arrow in the air pointing towards her. "My character" am also knowledgeable about that the natural laws in the dreams are different.

Last time I gained lucidity it was terminated immediately through a "false awakening". But now after reading this thread I have began to make reality checks (I check if the number of fingers of my hands are what it is supposed to be, over and over again), to see if I will have any lucid dreams in near future.

I'm sure I've had some, but sadly, none in my conworld.

I don't have lucid dreams. In fact, I think that half of my days, half of my waking-time isn't all that lucid either.

You don't realise you're awake? That happens to me too.

Do you mean like when you sit there thinking and forget that the rest of the world exists? That happens to me a lot.

A case of deixis machina if there ever was one.

yes, but those are not all there is to it. (However, I probably should have put a Smile or a Wink in my post; it's not like I have a serious condition that I know of.)

Escaping from reality is easy, isn't it? I often feel that my grounding in reality is a bit tenuous but you guys take it to another level of coolness, haha. Do you ever try drawing what you see in your dreams? I sketch out things that jump out at me when I'm zoning out.

Do you mean forgetting that the rest of the world exists as well as the perception from the rest of the world cease to reach the consciousness? That has happened to me at least once. I was in the shower and was thinking, and then I ceased to be aware of the outer world, so that nothing from my eyes or anything reached my consciousness, then, after I had thought for a while, I thought "Hey! Where am I?? How did I get here? Ah, I remember: I was in the shower!" and then the perception began again.

No, I'm too poor at drawing. Except if I would dream something which is simple to draw, such as glyphs.

Do you mean like strange animals and the like?

A few days ago I almost reached lucidity. I was dreaming that I was in my apartment, and I went to bed to try to sleep. But I didn't succeed in the few seconds that I tried, but I thought that I succeeded partially, since unexpected things appeared in my apartment, including my dead grandmother, so I knew that it was a dream. I thought that I was sleep-walking and that all things which shouldn't be there was provided by the dreaming (but had I been lucid I would have realized that it was all a dream from the beginning, since my apartment didn't have the right layout at all). So I went back to bed with the intention to leave my sleep-walking body there, while getting up entirely in the dream state. And done. "Nice, I'm on my way!" First I was going to go out through the door, but I thought that maybe there was a risk that my body was sleep-walking out too (though if I had been lucid then I would have known that there doesn't exist any door there in my real apartment), so maybe it was better that I just walked through the wall. So I did. So I was flying outside, and strangely my thoughts was suddenly vocalized with a female voice (I'm male) from outside "my character", which echoed over the realm where I was, instead of being unvocalized. But I wasn't convinced that I really was lucid (I have programmed myself that the first thing to do if I become lucid is to make sure that I really am lucid, and that it isn't just a dream about being lucid), and that feeling was both the character's and mine, since I began to become lucid. But then I woke up. Irritating!

As for dreaming (lucid or not) about your conworld: I do it the other way round, instead of dreaming about my conworld, I simply declare whatever I like in my dreams to be part of my conworld. My conlang is sort of an interdimensional auxlang, and not the native language of the conpeople.
