ANTIABL is the anti-ablative case. Again, I don't know whether this is the proper abbreviation (or even if this is a real case.) Basically, where the ablative case means motion away, anti-ablative means motion towards. So, this word would translate literally as "to gentlemen," better put as "for gentlemen." |
"to" for "motion toward" is generally called "allative". |
Sorry, this is my first language to have positional cases, so I get confused.

"For" is usually translated with a language's benefactive case (if it has one); that case is used for beneficiaries.
I'd say "she lays eggs to gentlemen" has a dative-sounding occurence of "to gentlemen"; if you want allative and dative to look/sound the same in your 'lang, why not? that's certainly naturalistic and realistic. |
OK. Sum does definitely use the allative case as dative. Benefactive is not used here because the sentence implies giving. "She makes eggs (and gives them) to gentlemen" would be a good translation now that I think about it. Since you're using the allative/dative case (which goes with words like to give) instead of the benefactive case, you can imply the verb to give without having to use it.
