Book One: The Creation
"For all things a beginning, and an end for all things."
So had said Hheron when s/he created the universe. And so it came to be that the stars had shone in the sky and that humanity lived in the universe. And Hheron saw this and was pleased. S/He said:
"Now give eyes and ears for humanity, so they can see the beauty of life."
So these were given. And so it was that the humans saw the beauty of life. And they said:
"Oh! Our world is great! Now let us make music in celebration!"
And so music was created.

Thanks! Two questions: what is INN? Why is it -ona for stars and -nonaré for humans?

Also, here's X-SAMPA for the Kandisk:

INN is the Innessive case in Eleypherion.

Star and human have no effect on what the innessive ending is, it is actually what they are in, so it is the "sky" and the "universe" which affects it.

As sky is fref - ending in a consonant and is singular, we add -ona.
But as universe is yuanazé - ending in either a, e, é or u and is singular, we add -nonaré.

If the noun ending in an "i" or "o", we would add -laraté.

And for each of the three above, we would add -onani, nonaren or -lareten if the noun was plural (and in that case, we would not need to add the plural suffix -ga)

(Or at least I made that last bit up. Haha, as I forgot that I would have added -ga, so it would end in -onani regardless. Hmm... I'm not sure what to do. Haha What do you think?)

Yeah, I meant to say sky/universe. Got confused about the translation. Rolling Eyes

OK. Thanks for that.

Personally I would drop the -ga when -onani is used, since that would be shorter and not as redundant. Bear in mind, though, I have a strong bias towards simplicity and removing superfluous affixes. Keeping the -ga is just as good of an option, as it would lend the language some of that "quirkiness/realisticness" that is so prized in conlanging. In the end, it's your choice.

Smile Yes, a strong bias.

EDIT: Here is the Gwakkian translation!

Lén kwõlvát óndénśóč: čán gáfrúk

“Bóf kôśônák tôtálnák vórškúpûgér éln kómpéntâś, ét bóf kôśônák tôtálnák vórškúpûgér éd fínśártêl.” Déhérón drótvénrál trálréndérdrénkén évnád kômpáśkét vén hágéntônár mákénšîn Tôstgwákâ. Ét évnád hágéntônár mákénšîn kômpáśkét kán dônén žíśmáśkén dérźánkrón lén mólprênõk hágrén šánhôbrítlórf ét dônén gwákénák hágénśát vílréntlórf dér Tôśtgwákâ. Hérón hágénśátśín lénkántônár nád éthágén drãtônár úrkâ. Vén hágéntônár réndérdrén “Étśárk vórškúpûgrákśín rál dônén gwákénák čánén ámpórtínák ét lénén klîtôkén pôm dônén gwákénák pánôpśílhátâ lénkánkâ kán dón kórbérk drônén śéltâ.” Ét évnádén hágénśát drãtônár étśárktrál. Ét dônén gwákénák hágénśát lénkánlórf kán dón kórbérk drônén śéltâ. Vénén hágénlórf réndérdrén “Nôbrôśt Tôśtgwákâ glônén źánkrón. Mákén étśárkvíśkát dér ûbéntãl górknák.” Ét čán ûbéntãl hágénśát drãtônár mákénšîntrál.

Note: "Tôśtgwákâ" is used a substitute for "World" and "universe", as that is the gwakkian way of expressing all realms of existence, in accordance with the gwakkian worldview of Gwakkian ethnocentricity.

"Gwákénák" is used for "humans", as that is the gwakkian way of expressing all meaningful beings, with those of other countries being considered less worthy.

Haha, no problem. ^_^ And yeah, I don't know, I might just say that -ga can be dropped, because otherwise the other endings would never be used then. Thank you.

INN is the Innessive case in Eleypherion.
Ought to be spelled "inessive" and may ought to be abbreviated "-INESS".
"Inessive" is the case for nouns that something is in.
("Illative" is the case for nouns that something goes into.)
