A new conscript!!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28228492@N05/?saved=1

Zowhl 1 and Zowhl 2: it's a vertical abugida script without any plosives, intended to be kind of breathy rather than harsh. So the consonant cluster count is greatly reduced. If you want to transcribe a word/name etc with plosives, I've made a chart of which consonants they turn into.

(b->h; p->hr
d->w; t->v
g->j; k->ch)

There can be a preceding or anteceding consonant, or both. Pre's go on the left, ante's go on the right. One syllable per character, but you can break up a syllable for style. This is done after the nucleus.

It's kind of based on Hiragana; I'll post a full example a little later.

EDIT: the example is up (Universal Declaration of Human Rights)

Looks neat! I imagine it takes forever to write anything in it, though, at least until you get more practice.

Yeah, because it's an abugida. But I just have to remember the character for each sound, and combine them in the order they're already in. I don't know if I'll memorize it though, because I have a few conscripts I like enough to write in them, and I would forget them quickly because I don't use them enough.

it's a pity that at least the first page looks too dark, but I think this script seems to be a bit tricky to learn. Even so it looks good.

Won't those characters (pretty as they are) tend to become simplified under the pressure of writing many of them fast for a long time over and over?

Maybe, I don't know. Really all it is is having one letter per sound, then combining different letters into a single character. So realy you only need to learn the 15 consonants and 16 vowels.

As for speed of writing, I imagine once it's memorized, it might actually be quicker to write this than English, for example. Most of the letters use 2 strokes.

Glad you like them Very Happy

Good points. I guess actually trying it out would be the way to test.
