Kexyana Alphabet!
It's called the Kemeryo (it begins with K, M...) (any other alphabet is just called Arberyo).
Later I'll post the sorted version of this alphabet.

I like the way it looks.
How fast can you write it?
Are there typical problems in handwriting that make some letters likely to be confused?
--------------
What you've posted here is an alphabet; but you mention an abugida, an alphasyllabary. Do you have one? Where is it? Have you already posted it? _________________ "We're the healthiest horse in the glue factory" - Erskine Bowles, Co-Chairman of the deficit reduction commission |

How fast? Well it's just a bit slower than a Latin alphabet, especially it doesn't look like a Arial-like font type.
There would be problems with both r and ŕ because they may forget what the last movement should be to draw the correct glyph / character for each specific case. Some other people may draw the f and the p in a very similar fashion or a and o may exchange some of their features, but the most obvious would be the ones for n and ñ. Their last curve may always cross the vertical line and that may get people confused. People who would like to use it for quick notes may experience these kinds of things or may not like this script at all. That's why I was thinking if my conpeople would actually need another script for quick notes or not. Opinions of some users here and there were confronted, so I'm not such if I really want to do make it at all. _________________ Seos nivo adgene Kizne tikelke

The speed issue also relates with my own script which you may have seen around. It's a vertical script and has some influences from Mongolian and it takes a while to write. Therefore, I created a quick script which shows the very basic shapes of the vertical script. Admittedly, the aesthetics of the script is left out but it makes it more practical to use. |

Well here's my new version of the Kexyana alphabet or Kemeryo. It just depicts some minor changes like some more Arial-like (or pencil-pointed?) glyphs for s, sh, and z and, of course, now it's properly sorted. I hope you won't find this sorted version of the Alirdyselkam's and Layselkam's alphabet too unnatural.

I like the way it looks, however if I learned the script, it would take me at least a few months in order for me to write it proficiently. _________________ Join us at: The Renewed Spirits Forum!

Maybe a month or two...
By the way, I want to show you, people, how the quotation and exclamation marks would look like (for now).

I like the exclamation marks, the quotes seem a bit too fancy for just quote marks, they seem like they'd take longer to write than necessary for such a thing. I like the overall script though, especially the "arial" version.
What is the writing direction?
What media is used to write this?
Could there be a "simple" form with fewer swirls? Maybe the cursive version you showed could do that.
Can we see a key to the cursive version?
How are the letters pronounced?

OK, later I'll post a revised version of the quotation marks
To write in Kexyana conscript you'd need a graphite stone (it doesn't look like a pencil but more like any stone), a brush or a feather. This Arial-like version could be writing with a stone or a feather. Characters like the first version of the S, Sh and Z glyphs may be written with a stone or a brush. Why do they use a stone? It's because they don't know what a pencil is, yet. Sometimes they use some sort of clay...
It seems like you don't like all those swirls... Well, my conpeople like it a lot. (This may mean they don't see why they should change it, simplify this writing process / alphabet).
Quote: | Can we see a key to the cursive version? |
Maybe later. One of the reasons I didn't create the cursive version yet is that my conpeople would use this script in official documents, so there may not be a more cursive version at all...
Quote: | How are the letters pronounced? |
That's something I should have included in the first place he he he. So I'll include the sounds here:
X-SAMPA
K - [k], M - [m], R - [4], R - [r], A - [a] or [A], T - [t], Th - [T], P - [p], F - [f], O - [o]
S - [s], Sh - [S], Z - [ts] or [s], E - [e] or [3], V - [v], W - [w] or [b], B - [b], D - [d], I - [i], N - [n], Ñ - [J]
G - [g] or [M\], L - [l], Y - [i] or [u] or [Y] or [L], H - [h] or [x], J - [x] or [j], X - [ks] or [tS] or [Sj], U - [u] _________________ Seos nivo adgene Kizne tikelke

Ah, so the people don't use the writing for quick notes. OK, in that case, there would be no need for simple versions or cursivity. I don't mind the swirls at all, I quite like them. Same goes for the quotation marks. But, I was thinking of this as a commonly used script, not one for official documents. If the people use it only for official documents, then there's no reason not to be fancy. In the future, when writing is more common among the people, quicker systems may develop. _________________ Bakram uso, mi abila, / del us bakrat, dahud bakrita! |

Well, I think that this consociety's script may evolve later. I'm not sure if they'll create a different (more simple?) script that children may need to learn so they can communicate with other people easily (it may be something more like Japanase katakana and / or hiragana) or adults may use another script just to take quick notes or they'll quickly document what kind of activities they did that day at work (more like the Egyptian non-hieroglyph writing system that looks more like a proto arabic script). Here the conworld history may decide what the future of written communication may be. _________________ Seos nivo adgene Kizne tikelke

I've decided that my second conscript will be used for quick notes by everyone but kids under 15 should use it on a daily basis. Once they are 15 y/o they become men, girls become women after their 17th (sometimes after their 15th) birthday (party). If they have a party, there'll be at least 2 or 3 teenagers and their families celebrating their birthdays and they'll take place in the community center, which is the former local temple...
You'll ask why the community center (I forgot what was its actual name in English) was the local temple, well, I might only say that in the "twin kingdoms" there is no oficial religion, OK, OK, there's no religion at all, so the kings and nobles confiscated the former temples and all their contents some time ago and no one ever asked any questions or tried to stop them...
The orientation of my conscript is left to right, but there is a Greek term that describes an alternate orientation that begins with a left to right one, then a right to left one, later a left to right one, and so on... I think this is also a rule / common practice in some parts of my conworld.
Edit:
Well it's called Boustrophedon like our fellow coforumers or coboarders noted. Thanks for your help. _________________ Seos nivo adgene Kizne tikelke

It looks like it could easily lend itself to a cursive form.
Have you thought about that?
Am I wrong about that?
- - - - -
Have you decided not to have "uppercase" and "lowercase", as most natscripts don't, or to have them, as the ones we're most used to do? _________________ "We're the healthiest horse in the glue factory" - Erskine Bowles, Co-Chairman of the deficit reduction commission |

Well, I should have created a single symbol that would clearly indicate you when a single character is considered to be an uppercase one, but I've been quite lazy in the past few months and I didn't even think about it because I was focusing on my conworld and some aspects of Kexyana.
Edit / Shilzen:
As you can see now I posted an image above with the 2 symbols people may use to indicate that the next character on the right hand side is written in uppercase. Now you may ask me how they would tell you when are they using acronyms, well, that's pretty easy to explain, they'd use that symbol the same way we use parenthesis (Klammer auf, Klammer zu oder aus).
I know, they may look like they were either a stop signal or an ancient banner. Actually that's why I'd prefer to use the second one... _________________ Seos nivo adgene Kizne tikelke

Well, as I told you somewhere else, my first conscript is now lost. Perhaps I deleted it or burnt it on a disc and know I can't find it anymore.
In any case I started looking for a new alphabet and I guess I already have my first character or letter in the Kexyana conlang alphabet, kera (kay).
