I'd like to share a short description of the religion of the "buq" people, one of my concultures, plus an example of a coming of age ceremony in "buq".

The earliest recorded buq texts portray a polytheistic faith, but relatively early on, monotheism dominated. Much emphasis was placed on internal spiritual journey, as well as duty to the tribe, and love of relatives. This is reflected by the rites in a buq coming of age ceremony (done to the accompaniment of drumming):

Tribal Priest: (raises hands) daainguáaarbooaang:Rooaang/

Recipient: (kneels) !¡ dooinguáaarbooaang:Rooaang !¡

(drumming stops and priest turns over hourglass. All present sit and meditate until hourglass runs out (app. Five min.))

Tribal Priest: (raises hands) daainguáaarrangibooaañ/

Recipient: (kneels) !¡ dooinguáaarrangibooaañ !¡
(same as before: drumming stops, meditation)

Tribal Priest: (raises hands) daa!nguáaarbaaoong/

Recipient: (kneels) !¡ doo!nguáaarbaaoong !¡
(meditation)

Tribal Priest: (raises hands) daa!nguáaaraRooang/ (for boys) OR daa!nguáaarabooang/ (for girls)

Recipient: (kneels) !¡ doo!nguáaaraRooang !¡ (for boys) OR !¡ doo!nguáaarabooang !¡

(meditation)

Tribal Priest: (raises hands) daainguáaarraad/ (walks aside)

Recipient: (walks up to altar and kneels) !¡ raad- dooinguáaardaa- daaraaddoo- !¡ raad (turns to priest) !¡- dooinguáaarraad !¡

(all meditate for three turns of hourglass)

Tribal Priest: daa?rangibooaañ.

(the priest then anoints the recipient with water from the village’s holy well, and presents the recipient with a brass ring inset with the villages stone.)

The above is a brief description of a coming of age ceremony from the Rookhinyooř tribe, but it is an almost universal ceremony among the buq speaking people.

Translation?

I can't really say much about it because I can't understand it. But the ritual aspects look ok.
