Since I already logged in, I figured I might as well post a quick update.

My Erasmus (European student exchange program) period in Italy is aproaching its end and I am dying of overheat (figuratively, at least for now). I still have a bunch of exams to pass in these two weeks so it's rather stressful.

Then again, my one way of procrastination is, of course, conlanging, so things get done! (Granted, not the ones I should be doing but hey, ain't nobody got time for that, am I right?)
In an attempt to make a personal language that I won't get fed up with after a week for once, I'm combining my two loves – Latvian and Romance. In other words I'm making a not-very-realistic Baltic languages that, instead of borrowing from Livonian, German and Russian, borrows from Latin and Greek. Thus far, I like what I'm getting but that can change any minute now.

In other conlanging news, some time ago I finally figured out how to join the conlang mailing list, and I must say that having conlanging and linguistics-related discussion come directly to my e-mail is nice. The ongoing discussion about the true meaning of "a priori/a posteriori" is especially insightful.
Btw, can anybody tell me what do they mean when they use the underbar (_) on both sides of a word over there?

Welps, the test went well, I think! We use the ILR scale, except for some reason they make everything harder here so a level 2 is in actuality more like a level 3. I talked with my testers for a good 40 minutes and I'd like to think I only made a slight fool of myself, so I'll be sure to let you know if my confidence is misplaced when the scores come out next week. ^_^ I'll have taken the reading and listening tests by then too.

Woohoo! I got 3 in listening AND reading, and graduated with honors and the Korean Consul General Award! I feel so accomplished, haha. And now I'm on vacation, so I'll be sure to put up something conlangery, FINALLY. How is everyone else?

I am doing well and so is my daughter.
I'm trying to get ready for baryiatric surgery.
I'm going slower than I would have to because I keep forgetting to do things.
But any progress is great!

Well, I’m doing pretty well. I mean, I’ve never been to Hawaii before! It’s very exciting. I had a sponsor who took me all around the island and got me all settled in. Now that I have some time, I thought whenever I post here I can do it in a conlang as well.

미안합니다. 제가 자주 여기에 와서 어떤 코멘트가 있는지 없는지 확인하지만 지금 CBB에도 소속하기 때문에 둘 사이트에선 별로 아무 활동도 안 하는 편입니다. 근데 하와이는 최고다.

Sorry. I come here often to see if there are any comments or not but since I belong to CBB as well now I'm not really doing much of anything on either site. Hawaii is awesome though.

Yes, they're the same thing. I was studying it for the past year and a half. I have to brush up on Japanese again though - it's been all muddled up by Korean.

Wow, it has? Time flies. I work nights now so the past couple weeks have been a blur of semi-daylight and coffee. Not much to say about language, except that Chinese is next on my list and German will probably be after that as my housemates speak those. Enthusiasm is low and I've lost 7 pounds trying to adjust to my new schedule though, so we'll see how that goes. BUT, I'll try some conlanging this weekend - expect at least one resurrected thread by Monday!
