Similar to this project.

The 35 Words Project wants to collect as many translations as possible of the following text:

in the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.


If you translate that into your language, and then back into English, what gets changed and how and why?

And, can you explain any concultural stuff about how and why it's different from the 18th-century American English version?

Well, I haven't done anything in a while, but I can totally resurrect this thread. I don't have anything in native script, though, just romanization. There possibly are languages I never posted any info on, as well.

Ah... I could provide recordings, when I get back to the states. I can also work on scripts for all but Keudeu, which doesn't quite have one yet, but that also will be when I get back as I don't have my materials with me. A few more weeks, I'll be sure to revisit this then.

Okay, I did the first three recordings but I'm not quite satisfied with the other two yet. I uploaded them to Soundcloud, but I can't turn off the continuous play so until I figure that out here's one link to listen to all of them: https://soundcloud.com/tlhakujunkan/keudeu-35-words

I looked all over for a fix that doesn't require me to download Mozilla and then find an add-on, but besides that there's like nothing to make it not play over and over. Sorry about that.

I heard all three of them and could tell them apart.

Keudeu reminds me of Chinese and Kari reminds me of Japanese.
Not sure what Tadvaradcel reminds me of -- Russian, maybe?

And, wow, do you sound fluent in your conlangs!

Have you tried writing them in their scripts?

I'm working on that too. I really don't like that continuous play feature, so I'm going to try to put the scripts and recordings together into youtube videos instead. Kari and Tadváradcel have developed scripts, but Keudeu is relatively new and still kind of in the works. I'll get all this together hopefully by the end of next week.
