Hey,
As the title says, how many do you have?
In Aert, there are five 'tiers' that are effectively different cases, but technically, there are no cases.
1st tier: simple: I, he, she, they, etc
2nd tier: possessive: my, her, his, their, etc
3rd tier: reflexive: myeslf, himself, herself, themselves, etc
4th tier: 'distinct' possessive: (of) my own, (of) his own, (of) their own, etc
5th tier: impersonal (referring to an organization, group, etc, similar to the generalized English word 'they')
Grand total: 57  but only 8 base pronouns, with modifications and then the tiers.
Hmm, the poll doesn't want to work for me, so I'll just write it:
0-6?
7-14?
15-29?
30-59?
60-100?

| No total yet. Kilhirjui and Emitarjei work like Japanese - the personal pronouns are just like other nouns, they don't have any extra inherent morphology. I haven't really gotten around to them yet, but there will eventually be a lot, to refer to any kind of person and the speaker's attitude toward them. |

Hmm. My possessive pronouns are actually contained in the nouns they modify. For instance:
lorneft- boat
lorneftaa=my boat
lorneftaas=our boat
lorneftaan=your boat
lornefta=his boat
lornefte=her boat
lorneftar=their (male) boat
lornefer=their(female) boat
I said "in" the words, because a case ending would follow the possessive indicator in most cases. (ha ha-that's almost a pun!)
I don't have time to count it up now, but I'll be sure to post a total soon.

Unless my calculator screwed up (and that's altogether possible, it is Windows, after all), Gwákén has 708 possible pronouns. I'd post them here, but I'd probably take up too much space 
(Of course, some of these are for a very obscure formal case that is considered archaic in some regions)

3rd tier: see the 2nd tier (excluding 2 of the 3 genders)
4th tier: not sure about this one
5th tier: Galnas

Jinnish originally had 6 personal pronouns, but trade with the Arabs gave rise to 3 more pronouns. In addition to the pronouns "I" (I), "tu" (you), e (he/she), to (it), nē (we exclusive), ū (y'all), and sē (they), pronoun "hu" from Arabic "هو" originally was used to mean "that Arabic-speaking person" but its usage spread to become a 4th person animate. Similarly, hi from Arabic "هي" became a 4th person inanimate, and nin from Arabic "نحن" became we (inclusive). In addition, there are the possessive pronouns "ma", "tea", "ea", "hua", "hia", "ta", "nā", "nina", "ua", "sā", the indefinite pronoun "am", the reflexive "su" and "sa" (accusative form given), the relative pronoun "yes" and "ya", the interrogative pronoun "ku" and "ka", and the negative pronoun "nec" and "na".

Well.
With 24 genders (is that right? have to check), 4 persons, 6 numbers, many cases (but only 4 "main" cases), and inclusive/exclusive distinctions in 1st Person NonSingular; at least 1920.
Also, reflexives, and maybe reciprocals too.
Also, logophoric pronouns, and long-distance anaphors or long-distance reflexives.
I don't really know yet.

you = dak
you (plural) = daq
them / they = saq
him / he = so
her / she = sa
we / us = nōq
so, that makes a grand total of 7, lol .

1st tier: 29
2nd tier: 8 + 28, 8 for my, your, her; and 28 for something similar to puting an apostrophe S after you, she, we (so an apostrophe S type thing after all of the 29 first tier pronouns, minus the first person singular)
3rd tier: 31 (add "pe" to the end of any of the first tier pronouns with a shä prefix (for direct objects (tih for indirect objects)), plus the extra direct and indirect objects for first and second person singular). Actually, 64, counting direct, indirect, and direct object reflexives.
4th tier: Sort of the same thing as the second tier, so no new numbers
5th tier: 2, but they're both part of the 29 first tier pronouns (used when you don't know if the subject is male or female, if you're just not being specific, or if the subject is an animal and you don't know the gender/aren't being specific)
So, all together, I think that's 134. |
