"WHS"? What does that mean? |
'What he said'.
Quote: | The Fire Fox name is translated into Elvish, if you look at the italicized name (Morluöth). The syllable Mor means "related to fire" or simply "fire", and Luöth is translated "fox" or something like "clever dog". Most of the creature names, in my conworld, are in Elvish, for it is the current world power (as is Latin, in our real world). I don't know if I answered your question correctly... |
I think so. Since it etymologically means 'fire fox' then there's no reason not to translate 'Firefox' the same way. |

This is gorgeous.
If I were to list all of the flora and fauna in Tameridia.......you'd all be dead of boredom by the 100th page....XD

@Serali:
LOL! That is probably why I want to stick with the basic animals, with a few modifications. I go with the flow, as of now. When I feel inspired, I draw, to post it afterward... Wait... Did you say at least a 100 pages? _________________ Languages spoken:

LOL!
Yeah at least 100 pages....maybe more as I'm always coming up with something new....I remember this notebook that I have somewhere filled with stuff on flora of Tameridia.....
The only thing that I have on here from that blasted book....is this....I doubt you'll be able to read it though.
This is one of the books that I'm trying to find. I just had it about a couple of weeks ago and now I can't find it for the life of me....
I think one of boingies have it....

@Serali:
I prefer using a binder. Although it is very much messed up over the years, I still use it. It contains 85% of all my work over about 7 years range, I believe. It has my Bestiary, my Maps, my Races, my main Pro/anta-gonists, my Concepts, my Scripts etc. although none of them is complete yet. About 200-300+ pages worth, I believe; all fitting in a 1 1/2 inches-binder. LOL!
By the way, I love the script design. It is "flowerly". _________________ Languages spoken:

I don't think I have any binders with anything in it.
Lots of journals though. Glad you like it. I never thought of it as "flowery" more like "Arabicy"

@Serali:
Oh yes, "Arabicky" too... I just thought that real Arabic was curved more leftward and downward. At any case, I think all people in this website (or most, at the least) have a lot of talent. Mine, in this case, is artistic... LOL! _________________ Languages spoken:

Well, I guess, visually artistic. I can't draw worth crap. Music is fun though, and conlanging can be considered art too, so NVM I guess.
Gah, I hate it in languages when one word can refer to either a category or a member/subcategory of the original category... |

@Achemel:
The "spider"'s eye? It contains an ocular power capable of hypnotizing its prey in order to paralyze it. Of course, there are creatures in the world that have the capability to counter the spider's (Amavirics and Humans, for they too have ocular powers that create or cancel illusions--the Projector and the Illusionist, respectively [I shall speak more of that, when I post these information on this forum])... Does it make sense? _________________ Languages spoken:
