I wrote a letter to Zompist regarding some email problems.....*screams from frustration* Just read it:
I wrote: | Yahoo is acting up and I don't think it'll be the same ever again....until I know how to fix it. Every time I went to check my mail ( I was already signed in ) the url to it had "https://" in it said that Firefox can't connect to "login.yahoo.com" and when I removed the 's' and re-entered the info it just switched back.
No matter what I did it always switched back. So knowing that I'd be without yahoo for a good while I went to my profile on the ZBB and switched the email I signed up with to my aol one and when I entered the info I got a notice saying that my account has been deactivated and that an reactivation email will be sent to the email address that I switched to.....
.....only thing is that I never got it and it's been HOURS actually it's been a day more or less.....and now aol is doing the same thing too!
Idk what to do except to write to you using mail2web.com. A site which lets you check all your emails and write to people from any computer.
I doubt that you'll get this anytime soon but I'm praying that you will. Help me please. Of course if I get the email tomorrow I'll let you know that the switch has been successful....but it doesn't really matter now that I can't check my mail on either site but I'll let you know any way.
I'm also going to post this elsewhere in hopes of getting help faster.
Thank you so much!

There you go. And I'm having problems with mail2web now too. *cries*
If anyone knows any other sites that let you read your emails please let me know. Also PM me the sites/your suggestions on what to do also because if I can't access the link in the notification emails then I don't get to see the replies people have made.
What I mean is that the replies don't show up AT ALL if you go on the forum and to the topic itself. All forums seem to do this and Idk why.
Also could some please post this on the ZBB please to let them know what's going on. Thankies a million.
If I don't reply to this topic you'll know why. So PM me as well as writing here there at least I know I can access messages.

I saw that message on the ZBB and replied there; about your original problem I don't know anything else.
* Clean out all your histories and caches and temporary files?
(you said you did that.)
* Shut down your browser and start it up again?
(You said you did that.)
* Turn off your modem(s) and router(s) and such-like and restart them?
(you said you did that.)
* Re-boot your computer?
(You said you did that.)
* Re-install your software?
(You said you thought you'd have to do that and were going to try -- Did you? (BTW I hate having to do that.))
If none of that worked I don't know.
Lots of internet and web services and software are deciding people have to upgrade other software to newer versions now. Maybe you should try that.

Anyway:

| I use Yahoo!. I've also used AOL, Google, and MSN. Maybe you should try each of them? _________________ "We're the healthiest horse in the glue factory" - Erskine Bowles, Co-Chairman of the deficit reduction commission |

I did everything except re-install software.
Zompist reactivated my account. Thank God I thought was going to die without my beloved ZBB. XD But everything with the emails is still the same and YouTube is doing the same thing now when I went to sign in ( it had logged me out...I'm NEVER logged out so I knew something was wrong )...I was right.
But the good thing is I have mail2web so I'll be fine in that department for now. My mom called the technician yesterday and he "diagnosed" the problem which you mentioned already.
Windows has to be reinstalled.
Never have I been this nervous I told him I wanted EVERYTHING on my computer backed up and he said he'll do it. I have faith in him but that doesn't stop me from being nervous.
He's coming back tomorrow and I pray to God that everything works out.

And you were lucky this time, another thing would have been to have Linux installed on your hdd. You wouldn't know were to start in a world where applications setups are not as "standard" as you think they should, especially because you're too free to choose what to configure and how to do it according to the guides and handbooks and a lot of forumers' advice / suggestions. I mean, try to compile a program from source and make it work later on. It's a whole new world where the user can't be as naive as in Windows (but it pays off when it works as expected).
Anyway, back to the main topic. Get used to installations and especially reinstallations (of Windows). It's an evil thing that may take a lot of time but is required to make it behave properly once again. Make (regular) backups of your more precious files (you know what I mean), keep them at hand or you might regret it later. This time it may be possible to get some technician's help to do this but it costs you a lot more than just being cautious by safekeeping your (art)work from the very beginning. If something acts oddly, replace it, reinstall it, upgrade it if possible or downgrade it (if it was an alpha or beta version). If that's not enough, you'll know it's the OS that's holding a grudge against you... and seeks vengeance... Mwahahahaha!

Thankies thankies thankies!
He actually found away around the whole thing so Windows didn't have to be reinstalled but I'm going to keep this ( what you said ) in mind for the future.
