Thought I'd start a thread for multilingual music suggestions. Mostly spurred on by the first entry, which is this:
Calling All Dawns, by Christopher Tin
12 songs in 12 languages, and most of it is freaking EPIC. The album's not out yet, but you can hear surprisingly long samples of each song here.
My favorites are the Japanese one and the Maori one. _________________ 'We are the knights who say, "に!"'

Bhupen Hazarika is one of my favourite Bengali musicians. Search his name on YouTube and you should find all kinds of things. _________________ Tiedämme missä asut.

One of my new favorite bands is Hanggai, who do slightly modernized (ie: using a banjo or electric guitar sometimes) Mongolian folk music. This video provides a good introduction and there's a few more on YouTube.
Another foreign-language artist I sort of like is Eivør Pálsdóttir. Many of her songs are in Faroese, like this one, which has a nice sort of ancient feel. _________________ The past sure is tense... |

Do you know where I can find lyrics for Hanggai's songs? They're awesome. _________________ 'We are the knights who say, "に!"'

English translations are available here. I'm not sure if the Mongolian lyrics are out there, I certainly haven't found any. _________________ The past sure is tense... |

That sucks, the English translations don't help me sing along >_> _________________ 'We are the knights who say, "に!"'
