Ladies and gentlemen, i present to you, the Duri. This is somewhat inspired by the Arabic Oud. I have put two different scales on there despite leaving it fretless. One is the standard western chromatic scale, and the other is a 15 note equal temperament scale that my conculture uses.

Looks neat! How is it tuned? Can we have some sound samples? _________________ The past sure is tense... |

Indeed, I would love to hear how it sounds. _________________ 'We are the knights who say, "に!"'

It is tuned to D, A, E. This is because the 7th note in the chromatic scale is the same as the 10th note in the con-scale. This also means it is tuned similar to a mandolin, making it easier for me to play! lol.
I will string it up and post some recordings when the varnish is dry tomorrow morning! _________________ My Website |

it won't stay in tune for long (that's normal with new strings), but here is a sound sample:

Sounds cool! Definitely sounds Middle Eastern, but at the same time it doesn't. _________________ 'We are the knights who say, "に!"'

Oh, I'm so jealous! I wish I had enough skills to make an instrument!
Sounds really good! I can definitely imagine someone playing it in a conworld _________________ A Latvian. A language-freak.

| Great, now you've given me the idea of inventing new musical instruments. |
