Up here in Canada, things don't tend to get as hot. Right now, in Calgary it's... *runs to check outside thermometer* ...about 22˚C. But in Drumheller, which is a badlands/desert town, it can easily get up around Texan temperatures. Went hiking there once when it was 30˚ out, thought I was going to die.

In Sweden, I can understand why you wouldn't have one (though if you need it like you sound like you do, get one). Canada also.
I wish I lived somewhere cooler. Ah well.

Over here in PA it's been in the mid to high 80s F, but I don't think it got above 75 F today... could be because of the awesome storm that blew through Friday night.
Poor Baldash! Facing the sun! Do you at least get some good light, or no because you have to keep the blinds closed?
@Hemicomputer - it sounds cold where you are... (^_^) I start to freeze at around 65 F unless I'm doing something active enough to keep warm. Maybe I'm secretly a reptile.

Oh, that explains why you would find 72 F a bit chilly. Seems quote wierd to me, being a sun-fearing basement-dweller  .

72 is quite nice to me. My favorite temperatures are about 55-70.
65 to me can be warm, I'll go out in it in shorts and a t-shirt if it went up to 65 (that is, if it's been colder for a while).

Well, I guess 72 would be more "cool" than "cold," but I don't like to just be in it unless I'm in direct sunlight. (^_^) As much as I dislike the cold, I wear flip-flops well into November, and even December if it isn't snowy. I think the best weather is 75 F + with big cumulus clouds for occasional shade and a nice breeze. Excellent bike-riding weather anyway.

Yes, the light that shines through the blinds when the sun shines is sufficient for me. Though when I'm outside it takes a while to adapt to the light. |

I think 22°C is normal, not hot not cold but something in between. I wish here in my country the average temperature could be around 18°C but since it's located in the Tropic of Cancer or whatever you wanna call it, it's quite impossible... I hate it when the termometer reaches 30° or 33°C...

No.
In computer programming in the punchcard days a "nines" card -- with every field filled in by a 9 -- used to be used to mark "end of file". Such a card would sort to the last if the file were sorted. (The programs that processed such files were usually written in COBOL.)
So any date that would be coded on the punch-card as 99999999 or something like that would be important, in the sense that some bugs that wouldn't matter on any other date would suddenly be important then.
Sometimes if there were a good reason not to use a "nines" card, an "eights" card would be used instead. Or, a "Zs" card.
(Other cards that might be special would be a blank card or a "zeroes" card or an "As" card.)
"magic dates" might include:
11/11/1111 (or 11/11/1911 or 11/11/2011
12/22/2222 or 2/22/2222 (or 2/22/1922 or 2/22/2022)
3/3/3333 (or 3/3/1933 or 3/3/2033)
4/4/4444 (or 4/4/1944 or 3/3/2044)
5/5/5555 (or 5/5/1955 or 3/3/2055)
6/6/6666 (or 6/6/1966 or 3/3/2066)
7/7/7777 (or 7/7/1977 or 3/3/2077)
8/8/8888 (or 8/8/1988 or 3/3/2088)
9/9/9999 (or 9/9/1999 or 3/3/2099)
10/10 or 10/20 or 10/30 , 1000 or 2000 (or 1900 or 2100).
But none of them are "magical" unless you have buggy computer software. And this is the 2009th year only for certain purposes except in most Christian and formerly Christian countries. And using the Gregorian calendar instead of the Julian, starting the year on January 1st instead of April 1st, and counting day-of-month from the first day instead of counting down to the ides, nonens, and calends, are all sort of innovations.

They're all the same, because it's just an imprecise way of counting time, so, it doesn't matter, if the date is 09.09.09 or, I don't know, 03.11.97...
on the other hand... the sum of 3+1+1+9+7 is 21. That was odd!
