You may explain it now. I can't imagine what kind of event leads to the emergence of this optional script. Perhaps, you have the answer? |
Explanation: GO!
First, this is not an optional script. This is the sole script of the Holxûs people. The "old" script was/is used by the Naxmöse (I need to change some naming on the other threads.) The people who are now Holxûs were once part of the Naxmöse. The Holxûs are formed from a group of pacifists who separated and migrated south during a particularly violent and long-lasting civil war, which they were convinced would kill off all the Naxmöse people. The vast majority of this group were illiterate, so a completely new writing system was developed. The language, however, has not changed much: Holxûs and Naxmöse are mutually understandable.
I would post more details on the cause of the war and the current state of affairs, but I don't want to clog the thread too much. _________________ Ûke tev Sörshi rax al xlentûr ûkeshi Röt tep.

| A war. How come? Don't they still establish any form of diplomatic ties? As in commerce, cultural exchange? |

It was a religious war. The Holxûs went very far south, to parts where the Naxmöse didn't go. For centuries, each presumed the other dead, until the Holxûs started exploring northwards and they found each other. They do have now some trade between them, but cultural relations are tense because the Naxmöse are pressuring the Holxûs to adopt their government style. _________________ Ûke tev Sörshi rax al xlentûr ûkeshi Röt tep.
