Since I don't live in America and I don't have any idea which person (Obama and Clinton) seems more promising, I don't really have a say, but I am glad that there is going to be the first woman or the first African American to be the President of the United States. In Australia all of our Prime Ministers have been male. None Aboriginal or Female.

I support McCain, mostly, but between Obama and Clinton I prefer Obama.

I would be happy if either Obama or Clinton won. Although Obama seems promising, I tend to lean more towards Hillary, because she has the experience. I think that she has a good plan for the Iraq war, and at least she knows that a troop-pullout can't take place over night. It does take some time.

Why on earth would you do that???? It's, like, the most historic election in US history!!!

I like McCain too. However, Obama looks very strong and has a very good chance of winning elections. It's also nice to have the first African-American president, except that he came straight out of Africa just recently unlike other African-Americans who've been in the US for some hundreds of years.

Don't ask me, i get CNN and BBC Wink

ummm.... Obama is only half black and he grew up in hawaii with his white mother and grandparents but I get what you are saying about him not having the same ancestral history as most african americans. Whether some one is african american or not shouldn't even affect whether you will vote for some one or not.
Oh yeah, I currently supporting McCain.

I agree; but I was only stating that factoid that his family migrated to the US recently. I didn't mean it to sound that his race should be a factor. That being said, I get the impression that the media makes too much fuss of him being black.

THANK YOU! *Punches air with her fist in triumph* My mom says the exact same thing about Obama. 0 experience. If I were allowed to vote I'd vote for Hillary. I hope that Obama doesn't win because all he'll do is bring the country down even more with the whole war going on.

Please remember that Bush started the whole thing in the first place, so we really don't need some one like "Mr. Think He Knows It All" Obama to make the whole fucked up situation ( excuse my language ) even worse then it is now....

*Wonders how it could get worse*

Serali I hate to break it to you but congress approved this war and do you who vote for it...... Hilary did. Plus her plans for garnishing the wages of those who choose not to have health will hurt more than it will help. None of the democrats have enough experience to run this country and if were to have Bill Cliton even near the White house again it will be an embarassment to our country. JUst to put it out there I don't support bush or war a 100% but the issue is more complicated than most people think and to blame one person and his cabinet doesn't get anything done and nor does bleeding out our troups by denying them funding which is what the democrats have been doing or trying to do.

You make it sound like Aborigines are of a different gender.

I think that maybe he was comparing it to Barack Obama... Aboriginies are black too. (IDRC if Obama's only half black... He's still black so there.)

I was in no way trying to be racist when I typed/said that.

yssida summed up exactly what I meant (thanks yssida!).

I believe none of us here are racist anyway, so there is no question to that. Wink

I only see American politics through a small peephole here. I know little to nothing about Australia's politics, so my opinions are not valid.

I hate politicians. especially Ed Stelmach.

I would like to see Obama win though.

YeaH American politics constist the mainstream media giving as much pointless information about the republican and democratic candidates with giving us the really important stuff while all at the same time ignore completely all the third party canidates. And then voting for the lesser of two evils. But when it comes down to it individual votes don't matter because of the electoral college.

I honestly don't understand why they even have the electoral college if it's supposed to be "the people's choice". It's not completely democratic like elections were meant to be.

The electoral college should be destroyed.

The reason has something to do with when our country was first became a republic, after being a confederation, the average person didn't know much about what was going on in the rest of the country so the electoral was away for the more educated to be the ones to be making the important desicions or something like. But now a days we here about stuff happening on the other side of the country with in minutes of it happening so it is irrelevent now. Now the first part I remember one of my teachers saying but I think I skip some details.
