|
|
The following cartoons are very good ways to remember certain facts of linguistics that many conlangers would like to know. Take a look! Their humor does not detract from their value.
Non-Configurational Languages
Ergativity
Morphological Typology
Phonetics vs Phonology
Diachronic vs Synchronic
There are two other cartoons (so far) in the series that concern things not all of us need to know for every conlang, but they might be worth a look anyway.
Statistical Machine Translation
Physics vs "Physics Envy"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I recommend everyone check out the whole magazine every once in a while for other articles that might also be interesting.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Other interesting cartoons are here, and here. |

My favorite was the typology and ergqtive languages. I like the semantics one on the other sites too. _________________ kasabot ka ani? aw di tingali ka bisaya mao na
